In this episode of the special YOU Better! Take Action Series for Summer 2022, I am continuing my journey of getting informed & am inspired to take action for social change. In this episode, I’m reflecting on what I have learned from the activist origin story of Byllye Avery, an early pioneer in the women’s health movement. I share some stories from the early parts of Byllye’s  life and how she ended up beginning her work as an activist supporting women who were seeking abortions in the 70’s.

Anyone looking to impact today’s issues related to women’s reproductive health might benefit from learning about Byllye Avery’s work given it has inspired much of the efforts happening today.
